Artist Statement

My art wether an archive of words or a building of clay; is an attempt at decluttering my thoughts. It is a process of reincarnation. My thoughts taking shape. It is metaphysics in action. My ideas taking force; coming alive; a rebirth.

As my art goes through this transcendence.

It is also an attempt at consoling my grief. It is an expression of losses. Losses taking shape. The unseen solidifying; the invisible crystalizing. My dreams coming into life.

It is a nurturing. It is maternal instincts coming into existence. It is an attempt at healing.

It is my womanhood. It is my life taking shape. My morals and beliefs falling into place

Settling

Into who I am yet to become.

It is me now. And there also exists a- me - in the making.

My art is my family. Our coming together. It is me being an older sister. It is again me being a healer. In community. For myself and for others.

It is an attempt at grounding myself. It is eclectic and electric. It is an attempt to slow down and be magnetized. It is a radical lust for life as my friend once poetically phrased it. It is an attraction to the unseen. It is a polarization of affirmations. That yes my thoughts come to life. Yes they have that ability. Yes I am a maker.

It is an attempt to have a crush for the mundane. It is an eternal appreciation for my childhood. It is an attempt to go back to- the seduction of learning something new. It is a kiss with wonder. It is a question in the making…
